Beth Sharpley Named United Way Campaign Chair
The Board of Directors for the United Way of Virginia’s Eastern Shore is pleased to announce that Beth Sharpley will serve as the Campaign Chairman of this year’s campaign. As an Eastern Shore native and an active member of the community, Mrs. Sharpley brings a unique perspective to this year’s campaign. Her community involvement has placed her on many boards that support initiatives to improve lives on the Eastern Shore. Some of these boards include serving as a member and 2nd Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, the president and founder of the Worcester Preparatory School Grandparent’s Association, and past chairman of the Salisbury Children’s Choir Board of Directors.
Mrs. Sharpley brings much experience to the role of Campaign Chairman for the United Way. Last year, Beth was the Celebrity Dipper for the Eastern Shore of Virginia Habitat for Humanity, raising over $103,000. She is also a volunteer and active in fundraising for Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore. Besides these accomplishments, Mrs. Sharpley has performed with the Eastern Shore Madrigal Singers for 35 years and in productions at North Street Playhouse along with other productions on the Shore.
Mrs. Sharpley is currently the Office Manager at Coastline Chemical & SharpTech USA. She previously served as the Director of Admissions and Development at Broadwater Academy.
The goal for this year’s United Way campaign is $200,000 and is very realistic if all of the Eastern Shore embraces the work of the United Way and its impact on agencies whose programs support a better quality of life for residents of the Shore.
Since its inception in 1991, the United Way has raised over $8,400,000 for local non-profits. Much of this money has been raised through employee campaigns and all the funds raised stay on the Eastern Shore of Virginia to benefit the community. Make a Difference in Someone's Life
The United Way of Virginia's Eastern Shore is a local volunteer organization established in 1991 by business people and
community leaders who recognized the need to have a local organization that would be dedicated to helping the people of Virginia's Eastern Shore including Accomack and Northampton Counties by organizing and helping to raise financial support from local businesses and individuals for a variety of local charities. The organizations that are funded by the United Way provide a wide range of services to our community. It is very likely that you or someone in your family has already benefited from services provided by the organizations that we fund.
We THANK YOU for your donations over the years. Your generosity impacts the quality of life of the residents of the
Eastern Shore of Virginia. With your support we have raised over $8,400,000.00.
There is till much to be done and there are many ways to give!
