We surpassed our goal!

The United Way of Virginia’s Eastern Shore announced it surpassed its $300,000 goal and presented awards to the top contributors recently at a breakfast held at the Eastern Shore Community College Workforce Development building.

The 2015-16 campaign concluded in April with a total of $307,100 that will be distributed to approximately 150 nonprofit organizations which provide a variety of services to Eastern Shore residents.

Funds go to provide emergency food and shelter, family counseling, health services, youth development and recreation programs in addition to many other services needed in the community. Costs are kept low with one part-time employee and the efforts of local volunteers. In the 25 years since the founding of the United Way of Virginia’s Eastern Shore, almost $6 million has been raised.
